Mystery Bag Science |
Who
isn’t curious about what’s in the bag?
My third graders absolutely loved mystery bag science days. I let the
anticipation build up all day by leaving the bags out where the kids could see
them… then we opened them up in the afternoon.
Preparing the bags is easy - Simply select a science activity, print out
the directions, put all the needed materials and directions in a brown grocery bag,
and close it up until you’re ready. Here
are a few of the all time favorites…
Cotton
Ball Catapult
|
Puff
Mobile
Hoop
Gliders
The
activities here are all from Zoom Science, but you can adapt this idea and use any activities
you wish. I generally broke the class up
into small groups of about 3-4 students per group, with one bagful of materials
per group. It was great to see the kids
interacting together and sharing ideas… it’s amazing how creative and imaginative
they can be.
